Description

Is this a result of poor construction materials, and mother nature letting us know who's boss? Could these fires be the result of Exotic Weaponry like DEWs? Or is it simply the result of cheap vinyl plastic siding+wood framing in a high fire risk area vs 100+Million years of tree evolution dealing with forest fires in that area. Trees that literally evolved to live and survive in that type of environment. Where over and over, everything has been burnt to a crisp and then only the trees that survived would live to regrow. Over and over for eons...

Being experienced in science, construction, and modern siding materials, I'd like to propose an experiment the wanna-be-scientific DEW crowd and I would like some additional crowd-source help to gather some information and maybe perform some experiments for me before myself and many other scientific skeptics will believe your absurd hypothesis fto explain this very simple act of nature.

1. Find out where this picture was taken, or a similar area where trees did not ignite while the houses did.

2. Tell me what contractors built these structures, and find out what type of siding, framing, and other construction materials they used.

3. Perform some experiments to find out the average ignition point and flammability characteristics of the local species of trees.

4. Figure out the fire conditions which may have been specific to that area. Remember that burning embers from massive wild fires raging across much of the state sent burning embers HIGH into the air which then rained down sometimes miles away depending on fire and wind conditions. Those embers could have rained down onto the asphalt or wood shingle roof or been blow against the vinyl siding of the house.

5. Compare the flammability of local tree species which have had eons of evolution in climate highly susceptible to these types of conditions against the flammability of a mock up house using what I would guess was vinyl siding installed over tyvek or some cheaper variant, installed over plywood framed to an all spruce stud wall with asphault shingles.

Again, some type of hard data on the exact materials used in the construction of those house would be a much more scientific approach to actually trying to figure out WHAT HAPPENED?

Insurance Companies would be more than willing to pay good money for such a study, and I think we could easily get it funded.

6. Visit those local areas and look for concrete, steel stud, and metal roof structures compare with these cheap turnover development houses.
