A SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket will launch launch the Hotbird 13G television broadcasting satellite into a geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO). Hotbird 13G is the second satellite built on Airbus’s new Eurostar Neo all-electric spacecraft design, and will provide television broadcast services to Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Liftoff Scheduled (Subject to change):
November 03, 2022 – 03:26 UTC
November 02, 2022 – 23:26 EDT

Hotbird 13F and 13G are two high power direct to home communications satellites to replace Hotbird 8, 9 and 10 at Eutelsats's 13° East position. Hotbird 13F and 13G were built by Airbus Defence and Space based on the new Eurostar-Neo bus with a launch mass of 4476kg and an electric power of 22 kW. They have all electric propulsion, allowing an increase in payload, so that two new satellites provide the same amount of Ku-band capacity as the current trio of Hotbird satellites, with increased resistance to signal jamming.

This will be the:
– 185th Falcon 9 mission
– 150th booster landing
– 73rd consecutive landing
– 51st launch for SpaceX in 2022 (a record)
– 100th SpaceX launch from SLC-40
– 151st orbital launch attempt of 2022
