Belgian pilot Remy Van Lierde claimed that while flying above the wilderness of the Katanga Province (in the southeast of the Belgian Congo) in 1959, he spotted and took a picture of a giant 15 meter (50 feet) long snake, describing it as a dark shade of brown and green with a white-colored belly and a 3 foot long head.
