Description
The SPHERE instrument on the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope in Chile was used to snap imagery of 1999 KW4. The 1.3 kilometer wide (.8 mi.) space rock and its moon flew by Earth at a distance of 5.2 million kilometers (~3.2 million mi.) on May 25, 2019. -- Learn more about 1999 KW4: https://www.space.com/asteroid-passes-close-to-earth.html
